Who we are and what we do: short brief

3R-BioPhosphate Ltd. (est. 1989) is a technology-intensive company with international leadership in the research, development, engineering, and industrialisation of zero-emission, energy-independent pyrolysis technology and sustainable bio-based products. Originally founded as a joint venture with ALSTOM’s Lang Machine Works (1870), 3R became an independent organisation in 2001.

Our multi-product portfolio includes:

  • ABC (Animal Bone Char) BioPhosphate fertilisers – EU-authorised, nutrient-dense and climate-positive.
  • Bio-based adsorbents – high-performance materials for water purification and environmental protection.
  • Green energy – renewable heat and power from our proprietary pyrolysis process.

3R has acted as a coordinator and key technology provider in major EU programmes (FP5, FP6, FP7, CIP EcoInnovation, H2020), focusing on carbon refinery and phosphorus recovery. Through our proprietary 3R Zero Emission, energy independent pyrolysis and biotech technologies, we deliver ecological upcycling and value-added reuse of unexploited biomass.

We are the only EU vendor fully specialised in nutrient-dense ABC-BioPhosphate production from food-grade animal bones, covering the entire value chain — from breakthrough science and technology to industrialisation and global commercialisation. To scale our TRL9 industrial solutions, we have also developed a multilevel AI system that enhances efficiency, enables evidence-based decision-making, and accelerates innovation in global production environments.
